Qigong is a gentle and meditative movement practice with roots in Chinese Medicine and Daoist Philosophy. We include some body shaking / bouncing / tapping / swinging / meridian tracing to our warm ups and we cycle through various forms -including Healing Forms, Shibashi Set 1 & 2 & the Pre-Heaven Form. I also give time to more free-form exploration working with various principles of Somatic Movement and embodiment, and make lots of space for your body’s own impulses and wisdom.
Class Access: Anything I propose can be adapted and practiced seated, or lying down - always feel free to adapt the practice to met your needs and energy levels. This is a rest friendly space. I have experience of teaching people with visual impairment and am confident in guiding practice through verbal instruction. Please reach out with any access questions.
Rest Repair Recover - weekly online class - Wednesdays
I teach a weekly Somatics & Qigong class as part of the Rest Repair Recover Network - an online community space for those navigating chronic illness. These classes are accessed directly in the RRR Network.

Outdoor Sessions:
Getting there: from the main gates of the Cemetery on Greenbank Road, take the path to the right of the house and follow it for 50 metres or so. You’ll find us there!
Practicing through the seasons: a small bit of wind and rain won’t deter us - when the weather gets too intense, we meet online - reach out for a link. On colder days I may shorten the session slightly.
Access: Qigong can be adapted and practiced seated, so please feel free to bring a fold up chair. However please note that the ground is uneven, so not accessible via a standard wheelchair. I have experience in teaching people with visual impairment and am confident in guiding practice through verbal instruction. Please reach out with any access questions.
Rest friendly space: in the warmer months, bring a matt/blanket to accommodate any resting you’d like to do during or after the practice.
Training/study:
I am a qualified Qigong instructor through the Bristol School of Shiatsu and a Somatic Movement Educator through the school of Body-Mind Centering®.
I first came to taichi in 2002, whilst studying movement with Phillip Zarrilli (‘making the body all eyes’: tai chi-Wu form, yoga & kalarippayattu).
As a dancer I’ve been lucky to learn from many great teachers ever since. I bring 20 years of embodied and conscious movement practice to my classes, including yoga, feldenkrais and breath work. I have taught in a wide range of settings, from experienced movers to those new to movement practice. I bring my passion for all things anatomy and physiology to my classes.
I received year-long Qigong mentorship from Mimi Kuo-Deemer in 2025.
